Description:
Establish and maintain cost effective inbound and part-by-part outbound transportation for NAFTA supply base and related emergency transportation from point of pick-up to point of unload to support production volume and shift model. Establish and maintain cost effective outbound airfreight transportation from packing operation to airports in SKD countries.
Maintains standards used to measure and improve the efficiency and productivity of the inbound NAFTA and outbound airfreight transportation and the transportation service provider(s) performance.
Coordinates development of NAFTA inbound transportation schedule with Material Planning and service provider(s)-
Monitors service provider performance against the NAFTA Schedule.
- Channel any requirements related to contracts to the Transportation Purchasing Department.
- Investigates the feasibility of proposals by the process partners for optimizing the NAFTA schedules.
- Conducts scheduled review boards with the service provider(s) for JIT/JIS transportation.
- Accountability of invoice verification and sign-off.
- Calculates and reports on Inbound SKD transportation budget.
- Performs audits (internal/external) regarding service provider performance to Client Standards.
- Leads and participates in projects associated with assigned area of responsibility.
- Bill back of non-standard transportation costs to parties at fault.
- Collect and report data for monthly, quarterly, and annual evaluations of the contracted service provider(s).
- Ensures the contracted service provider(s) objectives support the direction of the CLIENT Group.
- Provides point of contact for packing plant-relevant inquiries regarding outbound sea freight.
Education:
AS degree, preferably in Transportation, Business, Computer Science, or a technical area or equivalent of 2 years experience in a manufacturing logistics function.
Experience:
2
years experience in a logistics function or materials management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Intermediate problem solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Basic working knowledge of SAP
- Basic auditing knowledge/ methods (preferred)
