Process Planning Specialist

. Position Purpose/Scope:
Supports and implements process documentation, changes, and improvements that are associated with throughput, capacity, and effect quality in all areas of the Paint shop. Supports planning in the areas of process monitoring and document control. Leads process evaluations and project implementation in process area of responsibility.
II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
o Establishes process documentation for Paint Shop. Maintains all forms, process sheets, and visual aids.
o Controls all documentation including checking for revision levels, utilizing the document management system (DMS), publishing the latest version to the intranet web page, and area sign offs.
o Utilizes the Change Management system to communicate all proposed changes and review in the management start up meetings.
o Communicates all discrepancies in documentation in the department and to manage the alignment of all internal processes to BMWMC Group specifications.
o Provides business cost analysis for process improvements and topic evaluations from Central Technology as needed.
o Represents area of responsibility for Ideal process by participating in team meetings, data collection, and feedback activities.
o Assists in Logistic planning and improvements including parts inventory and SAP reporting.
o Creates or assists internal departments with process support including documentation needed to implement new processes as related to new requirements.
o Responsible for archiving all documentation annually for the Paint department.
o Conducts, monitors and maintains oven curves and oven probe bodies by model type in order to verify oven operation within set parameters within BMW specifications.
o Investigation of issues found in all areas including internal, Body, Assembly, Audit group, field related feedback, etc. using root cause analysis tools.
o Participates in cross functional teams to develop solutions to promote efficiencies into processes.
o Participates in VPS events as needed.
o Provides information to Management team, Production Associates, and Suppliers as new requirements and or procedures are identified.
o Performs other duties as assigned by BMWMC operations supervisor.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
