I. Position Purpose/Scope: What are the key objectives of the position?
Provides structured, managed, dependable, secure and cost effective network and telecommunication infrastructure and services for all BMW Group locations in the Americas region.
II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities: List the major duties/accountabilities to achieve the positions key objectives.
o Provides advanced regional support for LAN, WLAN and WAN technologies (Ethernet, Frame Relay, routing and switching, VLANs, Fiber channel, Sonnet, Voice and Data convergence, video technologies etc).
o Ensures that all systems comply with industry and BMW standards.
o Develops and aligns Network Community strategies within the BMW Group strategies, and interfaces with internal and external business partners (subsidiaries, plants, suppliers).
o Provides high-level analysis, evaluation and support of existing and new networking and telecommunication systems and products, while striving for efficient and innovative solutions.
o Project manager for new network and telecommunication infrastructure installations.
o Single point of contact to external network carriers and providers.
o Analyzes management tools for configuration, documentation and monitoring of network systems in the Americas region.
Performs other duties as assigned by BMW Group Supervisor.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
