Indirect Purchasing Buyer - Entry
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree (preferably in Business Administration) or the equivalent of 4 years of experience as a buyer
Experience:
6
months of experience in material/supply/logistics planning6
months of experience as a consumables and/or capital investment buyer for a manufacturing company in the automotive industry (preferred)6
months of project management experience6
months of experience negotiating product, price, delivery and payment terms (preferred)
Responsibilities:
Supports the activities of the procurement process chain, including strategy and internal customers at the respective interfacesOrganizes activities in accordance with existing Plant Spartanburg and client group regulations and rulesUses client international group contracts and purchasing tools and networks to achieve best working resultsGathers information from the technical departments to assist with the determination of the specific requirements of the commodity, including preliminary specifications and/or scope of work, potential suppliers, timelines and othersObtains input from legal, financial, and other departments to ensure that all contractual and commercial issues of the potential contract are managedSolicits and evaluates within its responsibilities, bids and quotations from suppliers for the requested commodity and recommends pricing to ensure the best cost-performance ratioUses appropriately existing client group supplier databases and supplier evaluation and development processes and systemsImplements purchase contracts by using existing procurement systems that comply with company regulationsUnderstands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem SolvingAdheres to 5S and Safety Standards and PrinciplesPerforms other duties as assigned by client Group Operations Supervisor.
