Technical Trainer

Position Overview This position will provide comprehensive Technical Training support across all of Proterra's Powered One site in Greer, SC.
You will be responsible for developing tomorrow's workforce by assessing, creating, and delivering outstanding training to our fast-growing team which includes a deep technical understanding of our high-tech products, learning the students' needs and creatively developing training material that captures the attention of our employee.
Additionally, you will ensure they have the appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to perform their job as well as develop and grow our current talent for other opportunities within the organization.

Greer, SC About the Role - You will:
Develop a deep knowledge of our products and our bus and battery manufacturing processes and continuously stay up to date on upcoming product launches to ensure appropriate training is created and available.
Deliver technical training onsite to employees; engage with employees and management to prepare and deliver appropriate training needed to develop and/or strengthen knowledge and skills for our manufacturing staff.
Devise training materials and programs that prepare students of all levels of incoming ability; create new, engaging training material in various forms (classroom, hands-on, eLearning, learning videos) to meet the needs of the organization and ensure that training material is correctly housed and accessible in our LMS.
Collaborate with site Associate Trainers to create an internal training certification process for manufacturing teams.
Mentoring other manufacturing on the job trainers on content and training delivery techniques to ensure appropriate delivery of content to the needs of the learner.
Collaborate with manufacturing managers and supervisors on tracking employee progress towards knowledge and skills development.
Manage the complete training and retraining process:
understand internal requirements, schedule training with employees, prepare materials, deliver training and follow-up.
Collaborate with management team to observe and evaluate results of training programs in terms of understanding and implementing learned skills and knowledge; determine overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements as necessary.
Facilitate the annual evaluation process used to assess hourly Operations employees by creating competencies criteria for each plant position as well as helping conduct reviews for those in-scope.
Understand new training needs based on review of new products or needs of current talent to strengthen current knowledge and skills or develop new skills to meet business needs; interact with subject matter experts to ensure quality and accuracy of new material.

You will report to the Director of Human Resources and collaborate with various team members within the Human Resources function.

Your Experience Includes:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.

years of proven technical experience.
Knowledge of modern training techniques, tools, and instructional systems design methods.
Intermediate level skills with MS Office applications (i.
e.
Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and webinar/e-learning applications (i.
e.
Adobe Captivate or similar products).
Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; strong technical aptitude.
Physical demands include but not limited to:
lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, sitting, standing, working from ladders and walking.
Environmental demands may include:
extreme temperatures (cold/heat), confined quarters, excessive noise and high voltage.
