Gift Shop Attendant

Candidate must have prior retail experience, prefer someone with automotive experience (dealer) or automotive interests. Someone with strong customer service background. Must be flexible with shift as this can cover weekend and events (golf tournament etc). Prefer candidate with experience in merchandising, inventory control, reporting. Experience in quickbooks a plus.
Responsibilities:
See Attachment. Minimal travel possible. Schedule is 40 hrs/week but flexible schedule is crucial, as will require some ongoing weekend and evening hours. Experience in retail a must; experience in fashion background preferred. Experience in: merchandising, inventory control, retail reporting, experience with Quickbooks or Quicken - all a plus. Looking for a candidate with a passion for the automotive industry and keen interest in cars. Must be computer literate. Friendly, helpful personality, team player and customer service driven.
I.Position Purpose/Scope:
The Lead retail position possess a high energy and excitement level for CLIENT, the Driving School and the Gift Shop. Works directly with CLIENT clients and vendors to keep the Gift Shop running smoothly, efficiently, and neatly.
II. Position Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Attends to and provides friendly quality customer service to the customer in the Gift Shop.
Builds positive relations by providing information, guidelines, and support to customers.
Informs management of any customer concerns or other issues that may affect the Gift Shop.
Arranges merchandise displays throughout the Gift Shop in a pleasing, eye catching and attractive way
Looks for ways to promote and increase sales in the Gift Shop
Keeps Gift Shop tidy, efficient and clutter free
Keeps items pressed, folded, and/ or hung neatly, shelved neatly and orderly
Maintains a clean, attractive and safe work environment through the Gift Shop.
Ensures quality of inventory by adhering to merchandise standards and preventing damage to goods.
Keeps work area stocked with supplies as necessary, reporting to Business Operations specialist any low inventory levels in detail
Checks in new inventory and reports discrepancies to Business Operations Specialist
Completes all sales transactions and processes in accordance with established accounting procedures ensuringproper handling.
Places special orders and or ships out orders and special packages
High energy level
Experience with Quick Books is a plus
Identifying new items each season to carry as well as what is not selling and suggesting ways to move merchandise faster
Watch for an recognize security risks and thefts and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
Extremely organized
Willing to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
Sets work schedule with part time Gift Shop attendant based on needs and coverage.
Performs multiple tasks at the same time
Works with various departments throughout the organization to provide items as needed for events
Looks for opportunities for improvements, increase sales, or work efficiencies,
Assembles Driving School customer collateral.
Performs other duties as assigned by CLIENT MC Operations Supervisor.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
